GRID RESISTORS - 1KW AND LARGER
Milwaukee Resistor Corporation's Grid Resistors are among the
most versatile ever developed for high current - low resistance
applications. They are competitively priced and incorporate more
life and greater dependability then ever before provided by conventional
grid resistors.
Benefits/Features
Features of Milwaukee Resistor Corporation Grid resistors include:
- Stainless steel or special alloy
elements are stamped and pre-formed into grid strips. This patented
design (US Patent 3,212,045) produces uni-directional stress
during overloads for coordinated element expansion. Failures
caused by element warpage and shorting are eliminated.
- Grid strips are welded together
to eliminate hot spots and resistance fluctuations.
- Vibration-resistant insulation
is used for extended operation at higher temperatures and higher
voltages.
- Grid units are designed for use
with natural convection cooling, or can be designed with forced
ventilation if size reduction is desirable.
- Multiple units can be mounted in
frames or enclosures with other resistor combinations.
- Taps and independent sections can
be easily incorporated into the design.
- Different terminal configurations
are available to suit customer requirements.
- Hi-potential test at 1500 volt
RMS is standard with higher voltage tests available.
Applications
Typical applications where rugged Milwaukee Grids are used include:
- Braking
- Test Loads for Generators
- Crane Controls
- Speed Control
- Grounding Resistors
