HEX-POWER - WIREWOUND
POWER RESISTORS 300 WATTS TO 1200 WATTS
The Hex-power series of power resistors features
higher resistance ranges to complement the Edge-power resistor
line in high current applications. This offers you full design
and manufacturing capability from one source - Milwaukee Resistor
Corporation. Frames and enclosures are readily available for multiple
Hex-power resistors or combinations of resistors.
Benefits/Features
Features of Milwaukee Resistor Corporation Hex-Power resistors
include:
- Resistance-alloy round-wire is
continuously wound on specially designed porcelain insulators.
- Open coil construction allows
for efficient heat dissipation and easily accommodates reasonable
overloads and surges.
- Insulators provide proper turn-to-turn
spacing and insulation from support bars.
- End terminals are securely clamped
to the resistive element.
- End-slot/side-slot support bar
design provides versatility in mounting and easily adapts
to many existing installations.
- Design provides a high capacity
resistor with an excellent weight/wattage ratio.
- Terminal hardware for cable attachment
provided as a standard item.
- Movable tap terminals are available.
- Special brackets and support bars
can be made to provide direct replacements for other manufacturer's
resistors.
- Taps and jumpers available to
meet your circuit specifications (series, parallel, or combination).
Applications
Typical applications for Hex-power resistors in motor/motion control
include areas such as dynamic braking, motor starting, speed/torque
control, and plugging. Other applications include load dumping,
current limiting, and voltage dropping. Hex-power resistors are
commonly found in:
- Overhead Cranes
- Lift Trucks
- Machine Tools
- Battery Lines/Chargers
- Power Supplies
